Gladdies had a very solid win. Winning the toss and batting, the boys amassed a respectable 6/179 on the large Moore Park 5 outfield, thanks to 40s from Lach and Rookie, who opted out on Thursday night before roaring back on text Saturday morning for a snug-pants cameo. Debutant Ali impressed while others batted, with brief glimpses of a sublime bowling action and batting competency both left- and right-handed. Perhaps this is what spurred on Hirak to alpha his invitee, taking four wickets in the space of six balls – into the stiff southerly – to have them in liquorice allsorts in no time flat. Jagging a wicket the last ball before drinks, then the rest in a steady stream and they were done with seven overs to go. Congrats Hirak on the first Burchmoreless five-for in a while.
